The Nervión waterfall is one of the most impressive places of our geography. Its 222 meters high make it the highest waterfall in the entire Iberian Peninsula. A short walk to discover the flora and fauna of the place and admire the incredible landscapes of the Sierra de Orduña. Following the local traditions, a good day of mountain can’t miss the hamaiketako (the little appetizer, literally “at eleven”). For this we will visit a family txakoli winery and taste the local products such as his famous Idiazabal cheese.
We will start the tour in the interpretation center of Monte Santiago, to get an idea of what we are going to visit. The path to the Nervión waterfall runs through a beautiful beech forest, which gives us a unique opportunity to appreciate the biodiversity of this native forest so typical in the Basque Country. A very smooth walk, without slopes ideal for the whole family to spend an unrepeatable day in nature.
The Orduña region is famous for its quality products. We could not leave the region without visiting any of these farms. In this case a Txakoli winery, where we will take advantage of the opportunity to visit the facilities and make a tasting accompanied by the products of the area, with some surprise, which varies according to season. You know that we like, our visits are unique and unrepeatable, and so the times are dictated by our land and climate,
